♥️ Fall in Love with These Killer Valentine's Day Reads (Plus Chocolate!) 🍫

Hey, Reader,

You know those cozy winter evenings when all you want is to curl up with a good book and maybe some hot chocolate? I'm in that phase of winter right now, especially after our 5" of snow we got on Friday. After one good snow, I'm then ready for spring and garden season! 🤣

But it has encouraged me to get back into reading and writing, and since Valentine's Day is coming up, I wanted to gather some seasonally themed books for the holiday. Do you like seasonal reading as much as I do? I find myself always looking forward to the next holiday or season just for the books.

Maybe "perfect" isn't the best word, but I've organized the perfect a reading list that combines two of my favorite things - Valentine's Day and murder mysteries!

I know, I know...love and murder might sound like an odd combo, but it's a puzzle and I like solving them! IYKYK, right?

These cozy mysteries are literally designed for the Valentine's Day season, filled with charming small towns decorated with hearts, local bakeries whipping up treats, and of course, a dash of mystery that'll keep you guessing until the very end (or at least until chapter 2 surely).

I've read several of these books including: Buttercream Bump Off, Valentine Murder, and Murder at the Valentine Ball so I can recommend starting with any of those.

See all 22 Valentine's Day cozy mystery books and grab the list for printing or saving to Goodnotes so you can mark off what you read. (Plus, there are a few extra suggestions that are devoted to CHOCOLATE! You're welcome 🥰)

I'd love to see a pic of your marked off list if you embark on some seasonal binge reading! I'm thinking about trying to get at least 6 read before February 14, but we'll see with my busy work load right now. It would be fun to make at least one of the recipes that is sure to be included in one of the culinary cozies, too — fun!

I hope you're staying warm, enjoying winter (or whatever season it is where you live!), and squeezing in some serious reading time.

Hi, friends! My monthly meet-in-real-life Ladies Who Read book club event is next week—the first Tuesday of each month—and I'm trying to decide which book I've read recently that I want to share. This book club is a bit different in that everyone reads whatever they choose, and we share about something we read. We don't all read the same book like most book clubs are set up. The fun in this style of book club is that we get exposed to many different books in one sitting. Many books are passed...

Hi, friends! I recently bought an audiobook—Thick as Thieves by Mary B. Barbee—because I've read and loved this cozy novella series, so it was a good fit for listening to a book for me since my mind wanders off! (I'm trying to train my over-active brain to listen to and enjoy audiobooks...🤣) The most exciting part is that I purchased it from Mary's new cozy mystery niche bookstore, Mystic Valley Press! Yes, a bookstore dedicated totally to cozy mysteries and specifically independent authors...
